Sounding fresh and new and beyond the edge is what Bryan Ferry has always done best, and here, in what is almost a Roxy Music reunion, he does what he does best. Drag out Flesh+Blood or Avalon, then play this and see if you can hear the difference 30 years makes. The only thing that you could say is that in those decades Ferry's influence has grown to the point that we are less amazed now than we were then. The only amazement I really find is that Roxy Music and Bryan Ferry are not in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Unbelievable. A few weaker spots on Olympia are likely responsible for keeping the critical acclaim down in the upper middle range, and maybe an EP would have been wiser, but any Ferry fan will want this album.
